The race is five miles through Downtown Waterbury. The starting line is in between the Waterbury Green and the beautifully remodeled YMCA. (The YMCA’s facilities are open to all runners on race day.) The course takes you partially around the green, up on to Grand Street, then down South Main Street, out East Main Street, past the Palace and Brass Mills Center through Hamilton Park and then looping back onto itself for a fast finish at the Waterbury Green. The course has a few gradual uphill sections on the way out, but those turn into downhill sections on the way to the finish line.
